Refund of Beauty goods purchased where a discount voucher has been issued.
There are several possible circumstances covering the above, of which the following are the most likely; in all other cases please discuss appropriate action with your department head or Customer Services.
Q. Where the refund would leave total sales value for the transaction above the £50 qualifying spend.
A. Process refund as normal
Q. Where the refund brings total sales value below the £50 qualifying spend and the customer has not used £10 discount voucher and customer is returning unused discount voucher
A. Process refund as normal
Strike through the discount voucher and write ‘RETURNED UNUSED’ and the original receipt reference in top right hand of voucher and place in till.
Q. Where the refund brings the total sales value below the £50 qualifying spend and the customer
has used £10 discount voucher.
A. Deduct £10 from the amount refunded
Refund of goods purchased with a discount voucher during the discount voucher promotion period.
Q. Where customer is returning goods with a sales value of more than £10 purchased with discount voucher
A. Any refund will be limited to the amount paid and a new £10 discount voucher issued.
or
Goods may be exchanged to the value of the original sale or more – in which case the customer will need to pay the increased cost if more.
Q. Where customer is returning goods with a sales value of under £10 purchased with a discount voucher
A. No refund will be payable (as no payment was originally made) and a new £10 discount voucher issued.
or
Goods may be exchanged – in which case the customer will need to pay the increased cost (if any) if the new item is over £10.
NB: This is rare occurrence as very few customers will spend less than £10 due to no change given.
Refund of goods purchased with a discount voucher outside the discount voucher promotion period.
Q. Where customer is returning goods with a sales value of more than £10 purchased with a discount voucher
A. Any refund will be limited to the amount paid and a new £10 discount voucher issued as a gesture of goodwill. The voucher must be re-issued from Customer Services and a revised limited redemption date agreed by a Manager.
or
Goods may be exchanged to the value of the original sale or more – in which case the customer will need to pay the increased cost if more.
Q. Where customer is returning goods with a sales value of under £10 purchased with a discount voucher
A. No refund will be payable (as no payment was originally made) and a new £10 discount voucher issued. The voucher must be re-issued from Customer Services and a limited redemption date agreed by a Manager
